Paul Bray appointed GM of Principal Grand Central Glasgow

Paul Bray has been appointed general manager of the Principal Grand Central hotel in Glasgow.

Bray replaces Graeme Gibson, who was with the 186-bedroom, four-AA-star property for three years. Bray, who has worked in hospitality for 25 years, originally trained as a chartered accountant but fell in love with the industry and took a job as a hotel sales and marketing manager.

His most recent role was as general manager of QHotels' Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort near Glasgow, previously holding general manager roles with Macdonald Hotels and Jurys Inn.

Following a £20m refurbishment and relaunch in 2010, the Grand Central has recently undergone a £500,000 refurbishment of its Champagne Central Bar and grand ballroom. The hotel is also adding 13 bedrooms to the property and has plans to enhance the remaining bedrooms in the near future.

Bray said: "I am delighted to be coming on board at the Grand Central hotel and lead a team of such passionate and driven people that are at the very top of the hospitality business in Scotland… We have some great plans to enhance the Champagne Bar further as well as develop the restaurant offering."
