Peel wins consent for £30m hotel in Manchester's Trafford Centre

Peel has been given planning permission for a new 210-bedroom hotel at The Trafford Centre in Manchester.

The £30m development will include a 500 seat banqueting and conference facility, meeting rooms, a 200-seat restaurant and bar area, spa, gym and swimming pool, as well as a penthouse suite.

The hotel, which is expected to be four-star or above, will overlook Junction 9 of the M60 and, at 15 storeys and 60 metres tall, will be the tallest building at The Trafford Centre complex.

The hotel will also have green features, including living grass roofs, a sustainable drainage system including a pond and additional planting that will enhance the site's wildlife.

Peter de la Perrelle, Peel's leisure director said: "We are extremely pleased with this result.

"The hotel will be the first four-star hotel at The Trafford Centre and will add a quality facility for the benefit of not only the centre itself but for its neighbouring communities."
