Alice Ng has been promoted to the role of general manager of the 100-bedroom Express by Holiday Inn Newcastle Metro Centre. She was previously general manager designate. Stepping into Alice's old shoes is former deputy manager Keith Stewart.

Moat House Hotels has welcomed Paul Kay as customer sales training manager for the south division. Paul moves from Holiday Inn, where he was regional revenue manager.

Kempinski Hotels & Resorts has appointed John Serbrock regional vice president of sales and marketing for the Asia Pacific

region. John has worked for Kempinski before, but his last role was as group director of sales and marketing for Bilderberg Hotels & Resorts. Greg Ward has joined Von Essen Hotels as executive director of sales and marketing. He leaves his position as director of sales for Mandarin Oriental. The four-star, 324-bedroom De Vere Belfry in Wishaw, Warwickshire, has recruited Andrew Mosley as director of operations. Andrew has worked for De Vere for the last three years, most recently as general manager of its Swindon hotel. ### Plus… Restaurateurs Roy Ackerman and Prue Leith have been elected fellows of the BHA.

Property agent Colliers Robert Barry has this week opened a new office in Norwich, Norfolk. The office will be run by Richard Greenwood, a director of the company, who previously worked at the London branch. He is joined by Rachel Morton, who previously worked for a solicitors. She will be looking after the admin.
