Peter Osborne takes on management of Aldeburgh's Brudenell hotel
Peter Osborne, who was managing the White Lion in Aldeburgh, has now taken over a new role as general manager of both the White Lion and Brudenell hotels in the seaside town.
Osborne's appointment coincides with the opening of the Brudenell's new AA two rosette Seafood & Grill restaurant and sea-facing terrace.
"I am extremely lucky to be managing two hotels in one of the most beautiful parts of Suffolk", said Osborne. "Managing two, but very different hotels, in the same town has many great advantages as we can now cater for a wider variety of guests."
The White Lion offers relaxed brasserie style dining, while the Brudenell has a more serious food and wine offer.
New menus at the Seafood & Grill are the inspiration of head chef James Barber. At the same time, Ben Hegarty, the sous chef from the TA Collection's Swan hotel at Lavenham, has taken over as head chef in the White Lion.
Osborne will extend his enthusiasm for arranging fun community events at the White Lion to the Brudenell but with a different slant. Special nights planned at the White Lion include a variety of concerts, ladies' lunches and tribute evenings as well as a French Bastille night and Soul by the Sea, a free summer's evening outdoor event with live acts and bands playing and singing soul music at the front of the hotel. In contrast the Brudenell will be continuing its series of gourmet wine dinners with tutored tastings with more events to be announced soon.
Founded in 1996, the TA Hotel Collection is current owner of the White Lion and Brudenell in Aldeburgh, the Crown in Woodbridge, Thorpeness Hotel and Golf Club, Thorpeness Country Club, the Swan at Lavenham, and Aldeburgh Bay Holiday Lettings and Bespoke, an outside events company.
