Pontin's appoints marketing chief
Pontin's, the UK holiday centre operator, has announced the promotion of Jason Brindle to the position of head of sales and marketing.
Brindle has been with the company for eight years, joining as general manager of the Wall Park centre in Devon and latterly manager of the Prestatyn Sands holiday centre in North Wales.
Prior to joining Pontin's, Brindle worked for Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Land's End.
Along with his appointment comes a restructure of the sales and marketing department with Ian Marsh being promoted to the position of head of UK sales.
Marsh has worked in the travel industry for 20 years, covering new business development and special events for Pontin's for the past eight years.
Marsh heads up the restructured field sales team which covers the travel trade, groups and tours, sports and special interest breaks.
Pontin's will also be increasing its focus on internet sales and marketing as it battles to increase sales in the fiercely competitive tourism environment.
Last month, rival Butlins appointed Jim Forward as its sales and marketing director.
Forward, who recently led the project to build the first Butlins Shoreline hotel, took up the responsibilities handled by Ruth Connor, who initially went on maternity leave in January but decided against returning to the travel operator.
Forward is a former Argos head of customer strategy and format development and also worked on corporate strategy at Sainsbury's.
