Premier Inn plans new site on Anglesey

Premier Inn has exchanged a lease agreement with property investment and development group Conygar Investment Company to construct an 80-bedroom hotel at Parc Cybi in Holyhead, Anglesey.

The hotel, located within a multi-use development, would also house a restaurant and bar, should the development receive planning approval. A planning application is expected to be submitted shortly, and construction is estimated to take approximately 10 months.

Whitbread, the parent company of Premier Inn, has an overall UK and Ireland growth milestone target of 85,000 bedrooms by 2020 (from approximately 67,000 bedrooms today).

Robert Ware, chief executive of Conygar, said: "We are delighted to have agreed terms with such a high-quality partner and are keen to start construction work as soon as possible. Premier Inn is the UK's largest hotel group and their hotel in Holyhead will provide a valuable boost to the town and tourism on the island."
