President Obama expected to attend NATO summit to be held at Celtic Manor Resort
The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Summit is to be hosted at the Celtic Manor Resort in September 2014.
USA President Barack Obama is amongst the 60 world leaders expected to attend what will be the first NATO Summit hosted by UK since 1990.
The summit on 4 and 5 September will be the latest in a series of high profile events hosted by Celtic Manor, following the Ryder Cup in 2010 and EU Foreign Ministers' Summit in 2005.
Prime Minister David Cameron announced the venue of the summit earlier today in Cardiff. "The NATO Summit is a great opportunity to showcase the modern, successful Wales so we are going to be holding it at Celtic Manor but also using other sites as well, including in Cardiff.
"We've had the G8 in Northern Ireland, we've had the Olympics in London and we've got the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in 2014 - it is now Wales' turn for one of these big events. This is a wonderful opportunity for Wales, and South Wales, and I'm delighted to make the decision to bring the NATO Summit here."
