Private owner for budget motel in Warrington

The Tall Trees Lodge hotel in Warrington, Cheshire, has been renamed the Happy Guests Lodge after changing hands.

Jeff Riley, former owner of a hotel in the south, has bought the budget motel in Tarporley Road, Dutton, off an asking price of £700,000.

The purpose-built 20-bedroom lodge was acquired in early 2008 by the Jack Loggin Group, whose interest lay in the petrol filling station on the site.

The countryside three-star motel has a prominent location on the A429 just minutes from Junction 10 of the M56

It provides 20 en-suite bedrooms, a free Continental breakfast, snacks and light meals that can be served in the guests' room or in the first-floor Guest Eating Room, and parking for 20 cars.

The business achieved a net turnover of £162,923 in the year ending 30 September 2006

Tall Trees Lodge was sold through the Manchester office of Christie + Co.
