QHotels buys Swallow golf hotel in Telford

QHotels group has acquired a former Swallow property, the Telford Golf and Country Club hotel in Shropshire, for an undisclosed sum.

The Leeds-based hotel group, which acquired Marston hotels for £180m earlier this month, will now undertake a full audit of the 96-bedroom property.

Plans for the hotel, which has an 18-hole golf course, conference facilities, a gym and swimming pool, include "a major investment and development plan to bring the hotel into line with the rest of the group's impressive portfolio," according to a statement released by QHotels.

Since forming in 2003, QHotels' 22-strong portfolio has seen over £65m investment. Its other properties include the Queens in Leeds, The Midland in Manchester and The Royal park hotel in Cheshire.
