QHotels launches Christmas Jumper Amnesty

QHotels today announced the launch of a charitable ‘Christmas Jumper Amnesty' to encourage punters to surrender the gaudy Christmas jumpers that have been forced upon them during the festive period.

The amnesty, which will run throughout the collection's 21 properties, will also accept offending items including bobble hats, mittens, socks and ties.

Running throughout January, the group will be donating all the surrendered items to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity in the UK.

Michael Purtill, managing director at QHotels, said: "At Christmas we often receive gifts that aren't quite to our taste, so this year we thought it would be a great idea to encourage people not to throw them away or shove them to the back of the closet, but to donate them to a cause where they can really help people."
