Rachel Louis appointed director of sales at London's Dorchester

The Dorchester, the London flagship of the Dorchester Collection, has appointed Rachel Louis as director of sales. Louis, whose career spans the past 13 years, was most recently director of sales at InterContinental London Park Lane and assistant director of sales at Maybourne Hotel Group. Prior to that, she was regional assistant director of sales for Morgans Hotel Group, responsible for St Martin's Lane and the Sanderson hotel, with earlier experience including sales positions at luxury brand Tiffany & Co and global hotel company Hilton International. In her new position at the Dorchester, she will be responsible for motivating and performance managing the sales team to drive increased revenues across all areas of the hotel. She will serve as a member of the Leadership Committee, reporting to director of sales and marketing, Louise Smythe. Smythe said: "With more than a decade's experience of luxury hotel sales in London, we are delighted to have Rachel joining the team. Her industry knowledge and reputation will no doubt serve her well." Commenting on her new role, Louis said: "It is extremely exciting to take responsibility for the sales strategy for such an iconic London hotel as the capital prepares to take the global spotlight in the lead up to the Olympics."
