Radisson Blu Edwardian Guildford to become the Guildford Harbour hotel
The 183-bedroom Radisson Blu Edwardian Guildford hotel is to be rebranded as the Guildford Harbour hotel next month.
Owned and developed by the Nicolas James Group, the Surrey hotel has been managed since opening in 2011 by Edwardian Hotels London.
Nicolas James will take over the direct operations of the hotel on 2 April, under its Harbour Hotels brand.
Harbour Hotels is primarily focused on coastal locations in the south of England. However, in October last year it announced its first city centre hotel in Bristol with the acquisition of two former bank buildings, which are currently being refurbished with a view to opening in the summer.
The group will now transform the Steak & Lobster restaurant in the Guildford hotel to Harbour Hotel's restaurant concept, Jetty, headed by chef Alex Aitken.
Mike Warren, managing director, Harbour Hotels, said: "We are very excited to be taking the Harbour Hotels brand to Guildford; with a principal position in the heart of the town, we plan to maximise on this popular location with a full refurbishment programme - to include our award-winning restaurant and bar concepts."
The hotel includes a spa with an indoor swimming pool, gym and seven function rooms.
Harbour Hotels currently has six hotels and two wedding venues open, with a further five properties in the process of being developed or rebranded.
