Radisson Blu hotel planned for Kingston upon Hull
A new 168-room Radisson Blu hotel has been announced for Kingston upon Hull by Carlson Rezidor.
The hotel is in collaboration with developer Manor Property Group and is scheduled to open in late 2016, in time for Hull's turn as the UK City of Culture in 2017. It takes Carlson Rezidor's UK & Ireland portfolio to 51 hotels in operation and under development.
The Radisson Blu Hotel Kingston upon Hull will offer 168 contemporary rooms with free high-speed internet access.
Further services and facilities will comprise an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar and café, a health club and 750 sq m of meeting space and underground parking.
The building is part of the Manor Mill mixed-use development, which will also feature a 23-floor residential tower, student homes, a 5,000 sq m casino, and a plaza with restaurants and bars.
Mark Bailey, hotel development director for Manor Property Group, said an "upper upscale" hotel is much needed within the city and will make a significant contribution to raising Hull's hospitality profile.
Commenting on the announcement, Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and chief executive of Rezidor added: "The UK is a key mature market for us, and we are delighted to bring our core brand Radisson Blu to Kingston upon Hull which will be the UK's City of Culture in 2017."
