Radisson Hotel Group stays ahead of the curve with extensive expansion plans

As the post-pandemic return to travel continues, Radisson Hotel Group stays ahead of the curve with new hotel openings and signings in the UK and further afield across the EMEA region.

While there's no doubt the last 18 months have presented a significant challenge for the travel and hospitality industries, it has also provided an opportunity to reflect and plan for future growth.

Radisson Hotel Group and its investors remain committed to the mission to be the brand of choice for owners, guests and talent. In 2020, more than 40 new hotels, resorts and serviced apartments, with 7,700 rooms, were signed across EMEA and added to group's ever-expanding portfolio.

As part of this expansion, in October 2020 the group launched a new brand, Radisson Individuals. This conversion brand offers independent hotels and local or regional chains the opportunity to be part of the global Radisson Hotel Group platform, benefitting from international awareness and experience, with the freedom to maintain their own uniqueness and identity.

Member hotels are selected for their characteristics and personalities, offering guests the opportunity to discover new locations around the world while always delivering Radisson Hotel Group's high standards of quality and "Yes I Can!" service hospitality.

The first property to join the Radisson Individuals brand was Henrietta House, located in the historical city of Bath. The hotel offers 66 stylish guest rooms across two wings. Also part of the Radisson Individuals portfolio is the River Ness Hotel, situated in the heart of Inverness. The modern 76-room hotel includes a bistro, bar, and gym as well as guest rooms with authentic Scottish design, featuring dark wooden floors and walls and modern, welcoming marble bathrooms.

Radisson Hotel Group will also open Radisson RED Greenwich this summer and recently announced the signing of Radisson RED London Gatwick Airport. This will become the second Radisson RED property at a UK airport, following the opening of Radisson RED Hotel London Heathrow in September 2020.

Radisson RED London Gatwick Airport (pictured top) is set to open in Q3 2021. This creative hotel will offer 185 contemporary designed guest rooms, a bistro-style restaurant and bar, a well-equipped fitness room, and social meeting spaces showcasing bold design. The guest room design will be in signature Radisson RED colours, with big art paintings, comfortable furniture and wooden floors.

Designed to create memorable stays, the fresh, upscale Radisson RED hotels offer both business and leisure guests the best starting point to any holiday or business meeting. Radisson RED is an upscale hotel brand that presents a playful twist on the conventional, focusing on modern design and technology.

Adela Cristea, Vice President, Head of Business Development UK & Ireland, Radisson Hotel Group, said: "We are very excited about the upcoming openings of the new Radisson RED & Radisson Individuals properties. It brings our UK & Ireland portfolio to 66 hotels and 15,000 rooms open and under development, strengthening our position as the leading international hotel group in the region."
