Red Carnation Hotels first to win IIP Gold Standard across its worldwide operation
Red Carnation Hotels has become the first company to achieve Investors in People's new Gold Sandard across its entire worldwide operations.
The new award was recently introduced by Investors in People to help companies who had already achieved the basic standard to aim for a new challenge in helping staff enhance their performance and meet goals.
"This is a fantastic achievement for Red Carnation Hotels," said John Telfer, managing director of Investors in People London. "The company has set the standard for others to follow and I hope that news of their success will encourage more international organisations in the hospitality and leisure sector to sharpen their competitive edge by choosing to work with Investors in People."
Red Carnation achieved the Gold Standard after being assessed in its engagement with employees, investment in and staff take-up of training, internal promotions, quality of appraisals and one-to-one sessions, annual staff appreciation party, employee awards, and fund raising.
Enthusiastic, unprompted statements from employees that Red Carnation is "a great company" to work for, contributed hugely to the company' success in achieving the new standard.
Jonathan Raggett, managing director of Red Carnation Hotels and 2009 Hotelier of the Year, said the award underlines the company's passionate commitment to helping every member of staff achieve their full potential.
"It recognises that we go out of our way to provide outstanding opportunities for people who work hard and embrace the organisation's values where ‘no request is too large, no detail too small'."
Red Carnation operates 13 four and five star hotels in London, Dorset, Guernsey, Geneva, Florida and South Africa.
