Red Carnation's Bea Tollman named Leading Hotels of the World's Leading Legend
Bea Tollman, president and founder of Red Carnation Hotels, has been named Leading Legend 2016 by the Leading Hotels of the World.
Presented to hoteliers who have made "meaningful contributions to the preservation and advancement of independent luxury hotels", she follows in the footsteps of past winners including Ernst Scherz of Gstaad Palace, Switzerland; Jean Jacques Gauer, general manager of Lausanne Palace & Spa, Switzerland, and Roberto Wirth, president and managing director of the Hassler hotel in Rome.
Tollman, who oversees 17 properties in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, South Africa and the US within Red Carnation Hotels, was selected as the recipient of the 2016 award by a panel of judges who included the former chairman of Gleneagles hotel, Peter Lederer.
The judges described Tollman as "the embodiment of the passionately devoted professional, whose hotels are active, engaged and integral components of their communities."
Jonathan Raggett, managing director of Red Carnation Hotels, added that Tollman is one of "the inspirational greats" of the industry.
"She never stops working and has an innate sense of what it takes to make every guest's stay truly exceptional. She cares deeply about every member of staff, understanding that they are at the front line of delivering the guest experience every day, and she invests in training, rewarding and motivating us all."
Tollman, who won the Lifetime Achievement award at the Catey Awards 2016, will be presented with her latest accolade at a gala dinner during the Leading Hotels' annual conference in Buenos Aires, later this month.
