Reigate Manor hotel to undergo £500,000 refurbishment

The family-owned Reigate Manor hotel, which operates under the Best Western banner, is to undergo a £500,000 refurbishment.

Geoffrey Goddard, whose family has owned the hotel for over a decade, said he hoped the works would restore the hotel to its "former glory."

Work has already started at the property, with the coffee lounge, conservatory and club rooms complete.

The hotel has 50 bedrooms and six function suites and is due to complete in August.

Goddard said: "The majority of the work is focused on our public spaces and function rooms. We deliberately picked a local interior designer to work alongside us in order to create a new character for the hotel, one that reflects past glory as the ‘hotel of choice' in the area.

"Each room has its own bespoke character - for example, the Conservatory, the Club Room, the Lounge and the Ballroom - to reflect the character of a traditional country house."

The hotel remains open during the refurbishment, with a completion date set for August 2014.
