Rezidor announces 40th Park Inn in UK

Hotel group Rezidor has unveiled plans to open its 40th Park Inn in the UK and Ireland, with a property in Southend-on-Sea set to launch in the second quarter of 2009.

The 137-room property, which will form part of a mixed-use development, will be located along Southend's Western Esplanade.

The hotel will feature a bar, restaurant, 350sq m of conference facilities and a spa and health club.

Kurt Ritter, president and chief executive of Rezidor, said: "Park Inn is our fastest growing brand.

"We launched the first hotel in early 2003. Today, our portfolio comprises over 100 Park Inns with more than 20,000 rooms in operation and under development across Europe, Middle East and Asia."
