Rosewood London appoints Martin Cahill executive chef

10 April 2018 by

Martin Cahill has been appointed to replace Amandine Chaignot as executive chef of Rosewood London.

French chef Chaignot left her position at the 2017 Cateys Group Hotel of the Year earlier this year following three years in the role.

Cahill, who was previously executive chef of Dukes Dubai, will join the 306-bedroom, five-red-AA-star hotel on 23 April and oversee the luxury hotel's kitchens and restaurants including Scarfes Bar and the Mirror Room.

He said: "I am delighted to be joining Rosewood London, as I make a return to the UK's hospitality industry. Rosewood London has such a vibrant and dynamic kitchen team, and it will be a pleasure to work alongside them."

Since 2015, the UK-born chef has overseen the opening and food and beverage operations at Dukes Dubai, including nine F&B outlets and leading a team of 65 chefs. He previously spent 10 years with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, most recently as executive chef of the Mandarin Oriental Taipei in Taiwan.

He began his career at the Savoy and Dorchester hotels in London before moving to Canada. He has spent most of his career abroad, including Australia, Bermuda and Hong Kong.

Rosewood London opened in 2013. Calum Franklin remains executive head chef at the hotel's Holborn Dining Room.
