Middle Eastern hotel group Rotana hotels has signed a deal that will double its portfolio to 53 properties by 2010.

The group has just agreed a deal for 11 new management agreements for properties in Jordan, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to the 17 hotels currently being built.

Nasser Al Nowais, chairman of Rotana Hotels said: "This is part of our strategic aim to have a property located in every key city in the Middle East and this goal is being steadily achieved through careful long-term planning and timely action."

Rotana currently manages 25 hotels throughout the Middle East.
