Entry forms are now available for the 13th Champagne Ruinart UK Sommelier of the Year competition, organised by the Academy of Food and Wine Service.
Aspiring sommeliers, wine buyers, restaurant and food and beverage managers have until 17 December to enter the contest.
The first part of the competition is a written paper from which the highest-ranking candidates will qualify for the regional finals on 28 February. The winners will then enjoy a free masterclass with Ruinart in Reims, France, in late March.
The semi-finals and final take place on 13 April at the London Hilton, Park Lane. Last year's winner was Eric Sweibel, who has since moved from Berkshire hotel Cliveden to Summer Lodge hotel in Dorchester.
