Sam Byrne appointed head chef at Le Bon Crubeen in Dublin

El Bulli trained chef Sam Byrne has been appointed head chef at Le Bon Crubeen in Dublin.

Byrne started his culinary career in Spain at the age of 19 and spent two seasons working under Ferran Adrià at the world famous El Bulli restaurant, which closed for good earlier this year.

He then spent a number of years working as chef de cuisine for Irish chef Conrad Gallagher as chef de cuisine and his career has also seen him work in the kitchens of some of Ireland's most celebrated chefs including Derry Clarke at L'Écrivain and Dylan McGrath at Mint.

Byrne's most recent role was leading the kitchen operations for the Dining Room at La Stampa, a luxury hotel in the centre of Dublin. During his time there he was called upon to assist in the development of the contestants in the reality television show Head Chef.
