Scottish Borders hotel snapped up by local buyers

The Glentress hotel near Peebles in the Scottish Borders has changed hands for close to the £395,000 asking price.

The 10-bedroom property, which includes a bar, restaurant and owners' accommodation, was sold to local buyers Claire McGovern and Olivier Bony.

The hotel is located on the route from Peebles to Galashiels and is closely linked with the popular mountain bike and cross country cycling trails at Glentress and Innerleithen Forests.

The new owners plan to boost business at the hotel's 100-seat restaurant. They have started upgrading the bedrooms and intend to add an outdoor seating area and children's play area for next summer

The property agent was Colliers Robert Barry.
