Scottish fishing village hotel changes hands

Angus Estates has bought an historical small fishing hotel in the village of Halkirk near Thurso, Scotland's most northerly town.

The coaching inn-style Ulbster Arms hotel has 10 en-suite bedrooms along with 16 en-suite chalets to the rear. There is also a two-bedroom flat for the owners.

Facilities include a 60-seat dining room, a reception/lounge, a lounge bar, a lounge/meeting room and a public bar.

The Edinburgh office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £475,000 on behalf of John Thurson, an MP and local landowner.
