Scottish hoteliers buy Lake District guest house

The seven-bedroom Rayrigg Villa guesthouse in Windermere has been sold for close to the asking price of £550,000.

New owners William Wells and Pauline Green move to Windermere from the Marine hotel in Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway.

The detached property on the corner of Ellerthwaite Square lies within the Lake District National Park.

The Manchester office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the property on behalf of previous owners John and Linda Hayward.
