Search on for operator for new resort
Landscaping specialist Allseasons is seeking a hotel operator to run a four-star hotel in a new resort in the west of Scotland.
Allseasons is creating a 25-acre loch on the outskirts of Galston near Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, to be called The Meadows.
It plans to build a waterfront boutique hotel with 20 to 40 bedrooms, health facilities and a large restaurant, to serve 100 holiday homes which will be constructed around the lake. It is also seeking consent for a 45-acre housing development on an adjacent plot.
Managing director Andrew Malcolm said that Allseasons was ready to talk to branded hotel operators, chefs and restaurateurs for the resort, which will include ice-cream parlours and coffee shops as well as bistros.
Malcolm aims to get the development up and running by 2009, to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the birth of poet Robert Burns and the British Open golf championship being held at nearby Turnberry.
