Second World Food Awards open for entries
The second World Food Awards, aimed at celebrating the best in world food, are now open for entries.
Highlighting the growth in ethnic foods, the awards will assess the global food sector across the UK and Europe and will be held at the London Hilton Park Lane on 23 October.
Designed by the World Foods Association, the awards will be globally broadcast by Sony Entertainment Television (SET) Asia, which is co-organising the ceremony, and will include a guest list of sport, cultural and chef personalities.
The judging panel comprises of celebrity chefs including Ready Steady Cook star Ainsley Harriott, David Moore of the BBC's The Restaurant and owner of the Michelin-starred restaurants Pied à Terre and L'Autre Pied in London, food writer Anjum Anand. and Tony Matharu, managing director of Grange Hotels.
Meanwhile the Restaurant of the Year category will be judged exclusively by AA inspectors.
Last year, London's Cinnamon Club](http://www.cinnamonclub.com/) was named as the best ethnic restaurant in the UK.
