Seven sites confirmed for new Hub by Premier Inn brand

Whitbread said there are five Hubs in the pipeline in London and two in Edinburgh, following the announcement that property developer McAleer & Rushe has been appointed to build a second Hub by Premier Inn - a 185-bedroom property on Brick Lane in London's Spitalfields, owned by property investor Endurance Land.

McAleer & Rushe is already working on the first Hub, due to open in autumn 2014, a 167-bedroom hotel on St Martin's Lane, London.

The compact Hub bedrooms, which measure 11.4sq m, will feature a desk that folds into a Hypnos bed, luggage storage under the bed, bathroom with power shower and 40in smart screen TV.

The planned Hubs in London include St Martin's Lane, Goodge Street (179 bedrooms), Great Tower Street (119 bedrooms), Spitalfields and King's Cross (408 bedrooms), while the Edinburgh properties are in Rose Street (157 bedrooms) and Carltongate (131 bedrooms).
