Simon Mason appointed GM of the Richmond hotel

Simon Mason has taken the reigns of the Know Group's Richmond hotel in Liverpool as general manager.

He joins the 152-bedroom property from the University of Manchester's Chancellor hotel, and has also previously worked as operations manager at the Holiday Inn Liverpool and food and beverage manager of the Bolton Whites hotel in Lancashire.

He replaces Joe Little, who has been promoted to operations director within the Know Group. Little will oversee operations for both the Richmond and the Townhouse in Chester, as well as sister company Love Thy Neighbour, which is due to open a third site this spring.

Simon will be responsible for customer service and leading food and beverage, which includes weddings, conferences and the R Bar and Brasserie.

He said: "All of my experience has taught me that customers are and should be at the heart of everything we do… there is so much opportunity here and I'm very much looking forward to realigning with the Liverpool business community too."

Chief executive of the Know Group Steven Hesketh said: "We are a growing and ambitious company with lots in the pipeline so having someone like Simon on board is a great asset to the business."

The Know Collection, based in Liverpool, is owned and operated by Steven and Nicola Hesketh.
