Site secured for second UK Hilton Doubletree hotel
The Patio hotel in Aberdeen is to become Hilton's second Doubletree in the UK.
Hotel real estate advisor Molinaro Koger (MK) sold the 168-room on behalf of Patio hotels to Invesco Real Estate for an undisclosed sum. .
MK's Mark Blick said the Patio Hotel was an "exceptional opportunity for an investor to acquire an outstanding asset and add an internationally-recognised brand".
Situated overlooking the North Sea, the Patio hotel has two bars, two restaurants, a club, conference and banqueting facilities and a gym.
Despite indications of a tougher market and the hesitancy of owners looking to buy or sell assets, Aberdeen's hotel market is thriving thanks to its oil and gas industry.
This year will see the opening of a 60-room Malmaison in the city as well as a 181-room Courtyard by Marriott near the airport, with the 184-room Park Inn is due to launch in 2009.
Hilton opened its first UK Doubletree hotel in Cambridge earlier this year.
