Small Luxury Hotels reports strong start to its 20th year
Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) is celebrating its 20th anniversary year with a positive set of results for the first 2011 quarter.
The hotel consortium, which now has more than 520 hotels in 70 countries, achieved a 19% increase in revenue during the first three months of the year to £10.9m, as well as a 10% increase in reservations, year-on-year.
During the first quarter of the year 42% of reservations (25,146) came from the USA, 18% from the UK and 6% from Germany.
SLH is currently working hard at expanding its brand awareness and communications with its clients via social media. Over the past year it has built its Facebook following to 35,500 fans with the most active followers coming from India (23%), the USA (22%) and the UK (7%).
Online traffic has been further enhanced by a new blog from globetrotter Melissa Vinelli, its Twitter account with 4,275 followers and an iPad and iPhone app, which has received nearly 67,700 downloads so far this year.
