S&N buys Perthshire hotel near Blairgowrie

Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises is the new owner of the Alyth hotel near Blairgowrie in Perthshire.

The hotel is in the centre of the village of Alyth, overlooking Alyth Burn. The village has three golf courses and is within easy driving distance of several more.

A public bar with a servery, pool table and fireplace is reached by a separate entrance from the street.

The hotel achieved a gross profit of 61% on a £438,379 in the year to 30 April 2007.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the property off a guide price in excess of £650,000 on behalf of the Howell family, which owns the nearby Strathmore Golf Course.
