Sofitel London Heathrow named world's best business hotel
Sofitel London Heathrow has been awarded the title of the Best New Business Hotel in the World at the recent Business Traveller Awards 2009 ceremony.
The 605-bedroom luxury hotel which adjoins Heathrow's Terminal 5 opened in July 2008 and features a French restaurant, Brasserie Roux, which boasted Albert Roux as a consultant chef; the Vivre restaurant which hosts five live cooking theatre kitchens; the Tea 5 tea salon and the Icelandic blue Sphere Bar and Library Bar.
Restaurant Associates, part of the Compass Group, has held the hotel's 15-year food and beverage contract with Arora Hotels, owner of Sofitel London Heathrow, since its opening and has operated all of the hotel's on-site eating and drinking destinations
Guy Morris, managing director, Arora Hotels, said "Arora Hotels and Restaurant Associates' relationship began four-and-a-half years ago and is going from strength to strength. Receiving the Best New Business Hotel award is an honour and recognises our partnership approach."
Chris Cooper, business director at Restaurant Associates Hotels, said, "Business hotels require a high level of service and remarkable food quality and we feel that, working with Arora Hotels, we have been achieved a paragon at Sofitel London Heathrow.
"Our dining and drinking areas are sleek and stylish, in keeping with the hotel, and the hotel's corporate guests have responded very well to the individual personalities of each of the areas."
Restaurant Associates' hotel business has been established for five years and has an eight-strong portfolio of predominantly London and South-East based corporate hotels.
