St Andrews Bay's Stephen Carter to join De Vere as director

Catey winner Stephen Carter, general manager of St Andrews Bay resort, is to join De Vere.

Carter, who has been at St Andrew's since November 2000, will become director of operations.

St Andrews Bay was sold to the Apollo European Real Estate group earlier this year.

In July, Canadian company Fairmont took over the management of the resort in Fife, which has subsequently been renamed the Fairmont St Andrews.

It is to under go a £10m refurbishment, with renovations including the guest rooms, public areas and meeting rooms as well as technology upgrades.

Carter has previously worked as operations director of the Cliveden Group.

Hotel group De Vere is also under new ownership, having been snapped up by the Alternative Hotel Group in the summer.
