Stephen Browning has joined luxury country house hotel group Exclusive Hotels as the new general manager of the Manor House hotel and golf club in Castle Combe, Wiltshire. Browning, 44, has spent the last 12 months as general manager of New Hall hotel and spa in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield, and before that at the Crathorne Hall hotel in North Yorkshire - both part of the Handpicked Hotels Collection.

Prior to that Browning spent five years at Wood Hall hotel and spa, West Yorkshire, which is also part of Handpicked Hotels, where he oversaw a multi-million pound refurbishment in 2002.

The Manor House hotel is a 14th century country house hotel with 48 rooms. Its Bybrook restaurant, headed up by chef Richard Davies, won its first Michelin star in 2009 and also boasts three AA Rosettes.
