Steve Wilkinson leaves AA Hotel Services to launch consultancy

Steve Wilkinson, former area manager and senior inspector for AA Hotel Services, has launched a hospitality consultancy business.

SW Hospitality will provide training and support to hotels who are focused on developing their staff and delivering exceptional customer service.

Wilkinson left the AA last week after 11 years with the inspection and training body, having started his career in a family bakery before going on to work for independent and Trusthouse Forte hotels.

"Working for the AA, I have been privileged to stay in and inspect an array of amazing hotels, amassing a wealth of knowledge along the way, which I now hope to pass on and share with my own customers," said Wilkinson, who will also carry out hotel inspections for AA Ireland, which was sold by the AA in the UK to investment group Carlyle Cardinal Ireland in 2016.

He will also undertake some work as a consultant for Sauce Intelligence, a new company run by Amanda Afiya, former editor of The Caterer, and Giovanna Grossi, a former colleague at the AA.
