Ston Easton Park hotel announces Martin Baker as new head chef

The 20-bedroom, four-red-AA-star Ston Easton Park hotel in Bath, Somerset has announced Martin Baker as its new head chef.

Baker will continue to create dishes based on the produce from the hotel's Victorian kitchen garden, meaning the dishes will use seasonal local ingredients where possible.

The Ston Easton Park hotel is set within 36 acres of parkland and is housed within a Palladian-style mansion, much of which originally dates back to Tudor times. Alongside its bedrooms, it also offers a three-bedroom house named the Gardener's Cottage, within its gardens, next to the River Norr.

Its sister property is the three-star, 17-bedroom Sharrow Bay hotel in the Lake District. Both properties were sold for £4.5m in total by former owner Von Essen Hotels in 2012 following the group's collapse.
