Strategic Hotels & Resorts completes Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel

Chicago-based Strategic Hotels & Resorts has completed its £103m purchase of the Marriott London Grosvenor Square hotel.

Owned previously by an affiliate of private equity group Blackstone Real Estate Partners, the Mayfair property has 236-bedrooms and recently completed a £12.8m refurbishment.

It is also home to Michelin-starred Maze Restaurant, run by chef-patron Jason Atherton as part of the Gordon Ramsay stable.

Strategic has also completed its buy of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hotel in Arizona from Fairmont Raffles Holdings International for $345m (£182m).
