Supercity Aparthotels to open new London and Brighton sites
Serviced apartment brand Supercity Aparthotels is to open in sites in Brighton and London's Chancery Lane over the next two years, adding to its portfolio of three aparthotels.
Supercity Aparthotels currently operates the Rosebery in Clerkenwell, London, and two Earls Court properties; Templeton Place and Nevern Place.
The 53-apartment Chancery Lane site, expected to open in 2017, will be named the Chronicle, and will be located on Furnival Street.
Spanning 35,000sq ft, the Chronicle will also house two floors of offices, a gym and an onsite pub.
Alexis Burton, managing director, Supercity Aparthotels said: "Acquiring such a prominent site with an interesting history is very exciting for us, the former Jewish Chronicle Building is a little piece of journalistic history in the middle of a booming business district. We are thrilled to be bringing a unique Aparthotel to Chancery Lane and introducing the many diverse businesses in the area to the benefits of staying in a Supercity Aparthotel."
The 65-apartment Brighton site will be the brand's first outside of the Capital and is due to launch in 2018.
Located on Queen Square, in the former site of Brighton's ice-skating rink, between the seafront and Brighton railway station, the 26,372sq ft property will also feature a restaurant and gym.
Burton said: "We're excited to open our first development outside of London and it was only right that it be in a UK city that is not only a leading cultural centre, but also recognised as one of the UK's most diverse and liveable cities."
Both apathotels will offer car and bicycle parking facilities, complimentary wifi, and housekeeping service.
