Sussex B+B changes hands off a £1.1m asking price

Woodstock House country hotel in Sussex has been sold off an asking price of £1.1m.

The hotel, which has traded as a B&B, is sited in the South Downs in the hamlet of Charlton, West Sussex.

The South Downs Way passes just behind the hotel, which is within easy reach of local attractions such as the Goodwood race course, motor racing circuit and aerodrome; Fishbourne Roman Palace; the Chichester Festival Theatre; and the castle, cathedral and wildfowl reserve at Arundel.

The Grade II-listed property is a former 18th century farmhouse that now offers 12 en-suite bedrooms set around a courtyard garden (once the farmyard) along with the detached Cottage suite with its own garden.

Facilities include a 12-seat residents' lounge, a 20-seat lounge bar and two restaurants that can seat 14 and 16 diners respectively.

The ground floor contains a one-bedroom flat for the owners.

The Southampton office of Colliers Robert Barry handled the sale of the hotel to Nick and Sandra Ansley.
