Swallow buys another hotel

Swallow Hotels has just bought the South Lawn Hotel in Milford on Sea, Hampshire, for around £2.7m, taking its total number of hotel acquisitions this year to 18.

The 24-bedroom, three-star property near Lymington has been bought under a sale and lease-back contract. Knight Frank Hotels brokered the deal.

Peter Gray, chief executive of Swallow hotels and Inns said: "The South Lawn has been a very successful hotel for a number of years and we intend building on that by introducing the Swallow way of working."

Swallow Hotels has made no secret of its aggressive expansion plans. It has more than 82 hotels and inns with more than 3,500 bedrooms. Most properties are Swallow Hotels with a smaller number operating as Swallow Inns.
