Swallow Hotel Group buys the Lugger hotel in Cornwall

Cornish boutique hotel, the Lugger, has been bought by the Swallow Hotel Group for an undisclosed sum.

The 17th century inn was sold by its owners Richard and Sheryl Young to enable them to concentrate on expanding their spa and skincare business.

The couple's nephew and current general manager of the hotel, Ben Young, will continue to run the property under the new ownership.

Alan Bowes, executive chairman for Swallow Hotels, said: "We are delighted to have purchased this magnificent location. We can now proudly boast of being the only hotel company that extends from Caithness in the north to Cornwall in the south."

Property agents Knight Frank handled the sale.

Swallow hotel Group is part pf the London and Edinburgh Swallow Group. It has more than 150 hotels and more than 800 pubs across the UK.
