Swallow Hotels snaps up West Highlands hotel

Fast-growing Swallow Hotels has snapped up the Kyle hotel in the West Highland village of Kyle of Lochalsh.

The hotel, which is popular with tourists, businessmen and locals, occupies a prominent position in the village and is close to Skye Bridge.

There has been an inn on the site of the hotel since the early 1700s.

The property has 30 letting bedrooms, a fine-dining restaurant (the Old Chapel restaurant) that can seat 32, and the less formal, 100-seat Conservatory lounge restaurant.

Colliers Robert Barry was seeking offers in excess of £895,000 on behalf of Maureen Duffin, who has retired after running the property for the past 17 years.
