Taittinger UK brand ambassador Justin Llewelyn dies
Justin Llewelyn, Champagne Taittinger family representative at premium wine specialist Hatch Mansfield, has died of a heart attack just days before his 60th birthday.
Llewelyn, British Consul General for the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, was the son of Desmond Llewelyn, the actor who played Q in many of the earlier James Bond films.
He was well-known as a bon vivant, and a passion for horse racing led him to become an FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) steward, as well as a commentator of horse trials in Great Britain,
Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, entrepreneur and grandson of Pierre Taittinger who founded the Taittinger Champagne house said: "Justin had a beautiful Champagne soul and personality. During his 20 years with us, he enhanced the lives of everyone. And although he was Welsh, Justin was no puritan; he had a wicked sense of humour. His hedonism and his breadth of sympathy made him one of the family, part of our blood. We will never forget what he did for the image of Champagne. For that and much else, it is hard to adequately express our gratitude."
