Taplow House hotel sold for £6.5m

Wren's Hotel Group has sold Taplow House hotel in Buckinghamshire for above the guide price of £6.5m.

The landmark 33-bedroom, Grade II-listed hotel was sold to a private Singaporean investor with interests in several other UK hotels. He plans to refurbish the hotel and improve the property's other facilities.

Knight Frank advised Wren's Hotel Group on the sale. A spokesman said: "The new purchaser has some excellent ideas for developing the business to fulfil the requirements of a modern day hotel facility and those plans will undoubtedly succeed in driving the business forward."

Wrens Hotel Group forms part of GS Hotels and Resorts which owns three properties in the Windsor area, the Sir Christopher Wren's House, Windsor and The Christopher in Eton. The disposal will allow the company to invest further in its Croatian company Adriatic Luxury Hotels.
