Teams from 24 hotels to compete in charity football tournament
A hotly fought tournament is expected to take place when 24 London hotels come together on Sunday 19 September to compete in the seven-a-side football Challenge Cup.
Won by The Dorchester in 2009, the tournament will see teams of general managers, housekeepers, banqueting mangers, heads of security and porters determined to take the title.
All proceeds from the Challenge Cup, which is being held at Bishops Park in Fulham in support of Peace One Day, will go to The Springboard Charity.
Founder of the tournament, Paul Gilley of PJ Search and Selection recruitment company, said he strongly believed the event should support the industry he has worked in all his life.
"It was a natural decision for me to give any proceeds we make from the tournament directly to the team at Springboard," he said.
The full list of participating hotels include Blakes Hotel, Cantina del Ponte, Cavendish Hotel, Crowne Plaza St. James, The Dorchester, Guoman Cumberland, Guoman Tower, Halkin Hotel, London Hilton on Park Lane, Metropolitan Hotel, Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, K West, Lancaster London, Langham Hotel, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, May Fair Hotel, Mountbatten Hotel, Novotel London West, Park Plaza County Hall, Park Plaza Victoria, Royal Garden Hotel, The Goring, The Ritz.
In last year's tournament held in Hyde Park, The Dorchester beat the Cavendish Hotel in the final.
