The Dorchester appoints new hotel manager
The five-red-AA star Dorchester hotel, part of Dorchester Collection, has appointed Nicolas Messian as hotel manager, effective immediately.
Messian joins the Dorchester from his role as hotel manager at the One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai, where for four years he oversaw the hotel's 451 rooms, 17 food and beverage outlets and conference and banqueting facilities. Before joining One&Only he held senior roles at the Soneva Fushi resort in the Maldives and Goodwood Estates, Chichester, UK.
He also comes from a strong line of hoteliers, heralding back to his great grandfather Henry Elles who opened the Savoy in 1889 as restaurant manager alongside Auguste Escoffier and César Ritz, before later becoming general manager at the Ritz hotels in Paris and London in the 1920s.
In his new role, Messian will report directly to regional director and general manager Roland Fasel, overseeing all hotel operations from its 250 rooms, of which 68 are suites, to its designer florist and the Dorchester spa.
Fasel said: "I am delighted to welcome Nicolas to the team. His experience running hotel operations in Dubai has earned him a fantastic reputation among hoteliers and colleagues alike. He will be a great asset to our team."
Messian added: "I am very pleased to be back in London and look forward to working with the team to continue the Dorchester's uncompromising commitment to providing the ultimate in glamorous and bespoke luxury service to its guests."
