The Lanesborough appoints Maximiliano Castaldo head chef

Maximiliano Castaldo has been appointed head chef of the Lanesborough hotel's main kitchen.

Argentina-born Castaldo joins the Lanesborough from his position as head chef of the W London Leicester Square. Prior to this he served as senior sous chef at the Rosewood London, sous chef at Sushisamba and chef de partie at Nobu London. In his new role, he will oversee all room service, events and private dining, and dishes served in the Library bar.

Florian Favario remains the hotel's executive chef, who works under the director of multi-Michelin-starred French chef Eric Frechon, executive chef at Le Bristol in Paris.

The hotel has also appointed Antoinette Lettieri head of events following seven years in the same role with Como Hotels and Resorts.

Geoffrey Gelardi, managing director of the Lanesborough, said: "We are delighted to welcome Maximiliano and Antoinette to the team. They each bring with them a wealth of exceptional experience that we are sure will prove to be invaluable to the Lanesborough."

The Lanesborough is a member of the global Oetker Collection of nine luxury hotels.
