Mike Magrane, general manager at the Midland, said: "We're very much looking forward to re-opening the doors of the French and welcoming diners to enjoy our exquisite menu. There is a huge affection for the hotel in Manchester, and we're confident our guests will not find a food offering of this standard anywhere else in the city."

Head chef of the new restaurant is Adam Reid, with Kamila Plonska heading the front-of-house team as restaurant manager. There will also be a 10-course menu at £79, which will be available at dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. This menu will be the only menu offered on Saturday evening.

The restaurant will open from Tuesday to Saturday, serving lunch between noon and 2pm, and dinner from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
