This week's new openings: The Game Bird, the Whitby hotel, Hampton by Hilton Dundee and more
A look at the latest restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars to open their doors
The Game Bird
The Game Bird restaurant has officially launched at the Stafford hotel in London under the helm of James Durrant, offering informal, modern British comfort cooking. A trolley brings in-house smoked and cured fish to guests' tables, served with soda bread and garnishes of egg, cucumber and dill pickle, mustard dressing and horseradish crème fraîche. The menu also offers a selection of pies, puddings and stews, including salt marsh lamb lobscouse and steak and ale steamed suet pudding.
The restaurant's redesign celebrates the original 17th-century features of the building, while also incorporating marble, glass, leather and traditional wood panelling combined with touches of floral upholstery. In addition, cabinets showcase the game and steaks to be served that evening, as well as the lobster and range of oysters on the menu.
